許:「我經由學習挽面的技術來成為被社會需要的存在,透過由民眾共同參與的『不讓你痛❤來這坐哦』挽面創作計劃,我相信了失能的藝術家地位逐漸被群眾的需要給取代,由藝術行為介入了社會生活,我可以成為某些群眾所需求的職業對象,同時也是某些群眾所認知的展場中的藝術家。」
Syu,Jia-Jhen: “By learning the skill of facial threading, I become an existence needed by society. With the implementation of facial threading project [Come and Sit Here to Experience Painless Facial Threading] in which general public participate; I believe that the status of an artist with disability has been gradually replaced by the need of general public. The intervention of artistic behavior with social life enables me to become a vocational worker needed by certain general public, as well as an artist winning the recognition of certain general public in exhibitions.”
Ho-Yo:在這場名為藝術行為生產線的創作過程中,許家禎以一種新的職人姿態在群眾的在地生活領域中重新塑造所謂藝術家的職業人格;而向來以「與Ho-Yo Cookies餅乾店比鄰相伴的展覽空間Ho-Yo Space」也依隨其挽面技藝的號召旗幟呼朋引伴,招攬社區中和此空間有著陌生的公同生活關係的鄰人前來,參與這場以交際為最終目的的當代藝術現場。
Ho-Yo: During the creation process called “Production Line of Artistic Behavior,” Chia-chen Hsu re-created the so-called vocational character of artist as a new vocational worker in the local living field of the general public. “Exhibition Space Ho-Yo Space, which is always adjacent to Ho-Yo Cookies Store,” also uses the flag of facial threading skill to attract consumers and neighbors with a strange relationship of living together in the community and this space to participate in the contemporary art scene where the ultimate objective is social interaction.
許:「我以挽面行為作為滲透他人的觸角,享受一對一的交談與分享,累積著某種「感同身受」的想像經驗值,取樣出深藏在這場職人遊戲背後的信任與交際關係,進而成為一場如同生產模組(我的媒合之術)的藝術行為。」
Syu,Jia-Jhen: “I use facial threading to interact with other people, enjoy one-to-one conversations and sharing, accumulate the imaginary experiences of certain “empathy, and sample out the trust and interpersonal relationship deeply hidden behind this vocational game to further develop artistic behavior which is similar to production module (my matchmaking skill).”
Ho-Yo:對於媒合的解釋,就是兩者相看兩不厭的契合狀態,其成功的關鍵在於兩者之間的撮合者:媒人的角色,在此即是許家禎所扮演的挽面職人,更是Ho-Yo Space在現今諸多藝術替代空間中努力去乘載的社會功能,在這個時常做好坐滿的狹長空間,聚集了對藝術小有興趣的食客、對嚴肅的藝術殿堂之門有所卻步的群眾,而今更要透過每一個前來參與的身體與面孔,串聯起傳統技藝與當代藝術的共同內涵,當民眾推開如此通俗、輕巧的挽面體驗之門,與藝術家有所碰觸與交流,使共享的身體經驗成為關係,也讓藝術性的溝通成為可能。
Ho-Yo: Matchmaking is defined as a fully matching state of two people. The key to success is the go-between: role of matchmaker, namely, the facial threading worker played by Chia-chen Hsu, as well as the social function fulfilled by Ho-Yo Space among many artistic alternative spaces at present. Eaters who are interested in art gather in this usually fully booked narrow space. The general public who are afraid of visiting serious art galleries connect the common meanings of traditional skill with those of contemporary art through the bodies and faces in this space. When the general public opens the popular and light door to facial threading experiencing and get in touch and exchange with the artist, the shared physical experience becomes a relationship and makes artistic communication possible.
